PRIVATE LESSONS

_IMG_0143.jpg

With 15+ years of teaching experience in Los Angeles, Rose Coast Music School offers high quality private music instruction both online and in-person at our West LA studios.

Whether an absolute beginner or a budding rockstar, we work privately with each individual student to define their specific musical goals and their specific roadmap to get them there.

So... What instrument do you want to learn?!

ROSE COAST TEACHING
PHILOSOPHY

PERSONALIZED LESSONS

Every student starts by choosing a song that they really love and want to learn how to play on their instrument (and eventually perform during an upcoming recital!) This song will dictate the first chords we learn, strumming patterns we'll play and from there we'll build more chords and skills into our hands with the intention of finishing a song that we can play from beginning to end.

SIMPLICTY + STRUCTURE

We structure lessons to focus equally on finger exercises, creative exploration, and playing through songs. Half the lesson is exercises and scales and the other half is working on our recital songs. By keeping this structure simple, students know what specifically they need to do in order to practice between lessons. The more specific the structure, the more specific the practice.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

We’ve found that performing regularly is the key to long-lasting and meaningful musical progress. When you know that people will be listening to your performance, you simply prepare more intently. This additional pressure creates higher stakes and makes you practice more. Throughout the year, we organize and produce two school-wide recitals, smaller 'coffee house' nights, as well as 'campfire jam' nights to encourage students to meet and play together as one musical community. This experience is vital in establishing confidence in yourself and your voice as a musician.

-PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE-
ROSE COAST RECITALS

Gaining musical experience through live performance is one of the back-bones of what we do here at Rose Coast Music School. We all get butterflies before going on stage in the beginning of our musical careers, but the only way to move past them is by getting up there time and time again and just doing it. The consistency of showing up for yourself in front of family and friends is no match for nervous butterflies! Check out pictures from our last recital!
