Piano Lessons in West Los Angeles

Once students build a solid finger-exercise foundation, they're ready to level up with scales, chord structure, hand independence and dynamic control by playing with real expression instead of one volume. This is where the real musicality starts to click — you'll notice your playing feeling smoother, faster, with more control. Together, we'll build on your fundamentals so every new skill sticks.

Who Teaches Piano

All of our teachers are multi-instrumentalists and working musicians who perform regularly around Los Angeles. Danny consults with each student or parent to match them with one of our incredible teachers — Sophie, John, Peter, or Jess!

What a Lesson Looks Like

Every lesson is built around you — your goals, your current skill level, and the music you actually want to play. Here's what to expect:

We first identify each student's unique musical dream — what songs you actually want to learn, what music genres interest you, and what style of playing you want to work towards.

Once we identify a great song to start with, that song becomes the way in — we use it to introduce chords, technique, and rhythm in a way that makes immediate sense. We then weave in finger exercises and scales to strengthen the fine motor skills necessary to play the instrument.

Lessons run 30 to 60 minutes, available in person at our studio locations or online via Zoom — whichever fits your schedule better.

Ages, Levels & Pricing

We teach kids as young as 3 and adults as old as 93, with every age in between. We teach kids and adults at every level — complete beginners, people returning after years away, and players wanting to push further. Private, in-person lessons are $135 per hour, with flexible 30-, 45-, and 60-minute lesson options available.

We want lessons to be financially accessible when possible, so a limited number of reduced, sliding-scale rates are available for families who need them. Availability depends on the teacher and current studio capacity. If cost is a concern, please contact us. We're happy to have a confidential conversation about available options.

  • In-studio or online — your choice, same price

  • No long-term contracts — book lesson to lesson, or set up a recurring weekly slot

FAQ

Do I need access to a piano or keyboard to get started? Nope! You can always use the gear at our studios if you're in person, and we offer rentals if you're not ready to invest in your own instrument. If you're not sure what to buy, we're happy to offer recommendations based on your budget and goals before you purchase.

I've never played before — is that okay? Absolutely. Complete beginners are welcome, and many of our students start with absolutely zero experience. We'll begin with the fundamentals and build from there at a pace that works for you.

How often should I take lessons? Most students take one lesson per week, which gives enough time to practice in between while keeping momentum going. Consistency is key when it comes to skill retention but we can adjust frequency based on your goals, budget, and schedule.

Can I do lessons online instead of in person? Yes — our teachers offer both in-studio and Zoom lessons, and you're welcome to switch between the two depending on what works for you week to week.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson? We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. The preferred payment method is billed through our Square system the morning of the scheduled lesson.

What ages do you teach? We work with students as young as 3 all the way through adults in their 90s. Lessons are tailored to age and attention span, so younger students get a different approach than teens or adults.
